Bandai Namco Entertainment Asia today announced a new entry into the colourful and quirky franchise Katamari Damacy in 14 years; Once Upon A KATAMARI will have players rolling through time on 23 October 2025 for PlayStation®5, Nintendo Switch™, Xbox Series X|S and on 24 October 2025 for PC via Steam®.
In Once Upon A KATAMARI, the mighty King of All Cosmos strikes again and destroys the Earth and stars by accident. It is again up to the little Prince to roll his katamari, gathering all things small, big, wild and wonderful to recreate the starry sky; but this time across all eras! In this wholesome new adventure, players will travel through time rolling their katamari in the Far West, ancient Egypt, the Jurassic Era, and many more places and times, guided by the game’s signature art style, humorous storytelling and easy to pick up gameplay.

To spice things up in this new title, The Prince can now roll on power-ups! A rocket will propel the katamari to new speeds, while the magnet attracts surrounding object, the Prince can even stop time with the timer for a short while. Locating these objects in each level will help to roll the biggest katamari within the time limit.
New cousins will join the story too, and players will be able to customise any of the 68 cousins as well as the Prince, to roll with a unique style. This will especially come in handy when joining KatamariBall, the 4-player battle mode where players roll their katamari as big as possible and exchange it for points within the limited time. The player with the highest points wins! KatamariBall can be played online with friends, or offline against the computer. A whole new universe of songs has also been created for this title. Rocking and rolling to the beat is a classic Katamari experience that fans of the franchise and new commers will enjoy.
